EMTS offers courses at our training centers as well as conducting courses at a clients location. Contact our office for on-site group training discounts.

Registration Information:

Seating is limited therefore pre-registration is required.  Study packets are mailed upon registration. By pre-registering this allows us to issue completion cards immediately upon completion of the course. EMTS accepts all major credit cards. Refund policy; more than 7 days notice refund minus $15, less than 7 days notice no refund but may reschedule once if contacted at least 24 hours before course start time.  No refund with less than 24 hours notice or if the course is missed for any other reason. Fees do not represent income for the AHA.

AHA Healthcare Provider CPR - Allied Healthcare BLS Skills

2005/2006 Guidelines - Designed for healthcare providers who have a duty to respond to a medical emergency.  This would include hospital staff, dental offices, physician offices, home health, nursing home staff, and physical fitness trainers.  If you are not sure if your profession requires this level please contact our office.

Course includes adult, child, and infant procedures for 1& 2 rescuer CPR, choking, rescue breathing, automated external defibrillator (AED), airway delivery devices, and more.  Course ranges from 4 to 5 hours depending on enrolled numbers.

Textbook: Many participants may already have access to the Healthcare Provider (HCP) Manual.  Therefore EMTS does not include the AHA HCP textbook in the course costs.  HCP textbooks can be ordered by participants directly and at cost from any authorized AHA distributor. Textbook material should be reviewed prior to the course date. The 2008 AHA Program Administrative Manual (PAM) states that the textbook is a key component to prepare for the course.

Under the 2006 AHA guidelines this course is considered a specialty program.  There are many modules to include or exclude depending on the participants needs. Therefore it is very difficult to offer an open public community course for individual enrollment and meet everyone's needs.  This program is usually conducted for corporations, schools or private groups held at our location or on-site.

The course intergrades the newly released American Heart Association First Aid curriculum.

AHA Heartsaver AED - Community CPR with AED Skills

$45.00 Individual & Group Rates (Call for group rate discounts up to 45% & on-site training)

2005/2006 Guidelines  - Designed for lay rescuers who have access to an automated external defibrillator (AED).  This would include personal reasons for taking the course, airport staff, hotel staff, arena/stadium staff, corporate/group responder teams.  If you are not sure if your profession requires this level please contact our office.

Course includes adult procedures for 1 rescuer CPR, choking, airway delivery devices, and extensive hands-on AED training.

This course is offered for private trainings for corporations or groups who are establishing an AED response team. Limited seating is available for private individuals.  Contact our office for contract rates and available dates.

AHA Instructor Course - $250.00 if needing to complete the AHA CORES program add $45 dollars.

AHA Instructor Renewals only have to attend the 8 hour classroom session.  Must be in good standing with TC and current - $175.00

Anyone in the public may attend an instructor course.  The course prepares candidates to teach all AHA Basic Life Support courses to the lay & professional rescuer.  To become an AHA instructor the participants must  complete;

  1. AHA CORES on-line/CD which takes approximately 7 to 8 hours.
  2. Attend the 8 hour classroom session.
  3. Be monitored teaching a minimum of 2 actual CPR classes (EMTS policy).
  4. Join EMTS' AHA Training Center as an instructor or any other approved AHA Training Center within the region.

Requirements:

bulletHealthcare Provider CPR card must be obtained prior to course.
bulletComplete the on-line/CD AHA CORES program as describe below.
bulletPurchase the required textbooks as describe below.
bulletComplete 8 hours of classroom instruction.
bulletBe monitored teaching a minimum of 2 actual courses (EMTS policy).
bulletInstructors must join a Training Center (TC) to officially teach courses. To join EMTS' AHA Training Center the fees are $100.00 per year and $3 per completion card requested.
bulletAdditional cost not required at time of instructor course but will be needed prior teaching courses under your instructor status; bag-valve-mask, pocket mask, toolkits, manikins, and AED trainer (depending on level of course).

  

As of October 2006 all instructor candidates must complete the AHA Core Instructor Course program prior to the instructor classroom course date.  This program is self paced and provides a foundation for teaching and facilitating AHA courses.  For optimal flexibility, the course can be delivered on-line (CE credit available) or via a CD.  The program comes with a workbook that includes the CD and also an on-line code if desired.  The CORES program is ordered and sent directly to the instructor candidate once they have registered.

(FOR THE COST THIS IS A MUCH BETTER DEAL FOR THOSE INSTRUCTORS THAT WILL BE TEACHING HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONALS.)

Title: Heartsaver Instructor's Manual Item #: NK80-1077 Cost: $45.   ALL INSTRUCTOR STUDENTS MUST HAVE THIS TEXTBOOK AT THE INSTRUCTOR COURSE.  This manual outlines the community (non-healthcare level) CPR courses which include AED, pediatric first aid, adult first aid, CPR and choking.
