Basic EKG

If you are doing well or have done well in your EMT-B course then EKG is easy.  Everything you learn in a basic EKG course will fit on one sheet of paper.  So why are so many healthcare professionals intimidated about a course that fits on one sheet of paper?  It is simple, the reputation of the course is that it is difficult and has lots of information to remember.  That is not true.  All you do is collect data/measurements and place the information in a chart of 20 rhythms to select from.  This is the same course we offer to doctors, nurses and paramedics at the area hospitals.  If you are going onto paramedic or higher skill level after EMT-B school this course is a must.  The toughest part of paramedic school is drugs and EKG.  If you take this course you will be well prepared for paramedic EKG sessions. Only about 25% of all hospital staff are competent in the area of Basic EKG.  This makes you stand out.  Even if you only retain 50% of the course you are well ahead of other healthcare professionals in the non-emergent fields.
